Printing
A large edition of this plate was printed for The Studio magazine in 1904. The Studio was then the preeminent channel of communication between British ‘artistic culture’ and the wider Western avant-garde in architecture, design and Symbolist art. Research is required to ascertain the extent of Legros's collaboration with The Studio at this time. The prints were apparently originally issued singly, with envelopes marked with The Studio's brand. A duplicate of this image in this collection at NBS00??.
