A view of the River Thames at Erith, east of London near the point where the tidal river becomes the Thames Estuary. This etching and SO 0060 were made on an excursion that Haden took with the French painter and etcher Charles-François Daubigny in 1865.
History
The impression features both the stamp in a circular cartouche and the printed Seymour Haden ‘signature’ that were added to prints by the executors of Haden's estate after his death in 1910. This impression and SO 0060 were purchased together and unframed. A gallery label,included in the sale and described in the entry for SO 0060, may well relate to this print too.
