Subject

Two peasant women wash textiles on the bank of a small river. On the other side of the stream, a winding path leads to the door of a rural monastery. The view continues until bounded by the ridge of a steeply sloping meadow.

Purchased in a lot of eleven unframed etchings by Legros, online from Semley Auctioneers in Shaftsbury, Dorset on 8th November 2025.
